1. Pajeon

Step into any Korean restaurant and you'll probably see a section of the menu dedicated to savoury pancakes. The most famous among these is pajeon (scallion pancakes), though you'll often find kimchijeon (kimchi pancakes) and haemul pajeon (seafood scallion pancakes). 2. Japanese fluffy pancakes

Japanese fluffy pancakes (also known as souffle pancakes) are soft pillowy treats that take this popular breakfast food up to dessert heaven. Similar to Japanese cheesecake, these pancakes involve separating the egg yolks from the egg whites and beating the egg whites into a meringue that's folded into the batter, thus giving it that irresistible airy texture. It's the perfect treat to whip up for dessert or an extra special breakfast - if you have a hand mixer they aren't much more complicated than your regular pancakes!

3. Okonomiyaki

Okonomiyaki is a savoury Japanese pancake made with veggies and meat that's fried and topped with condiments like okonomiyaki sauce, mayo and bonito flakes. This popular street food is particularly famous in Osaka as well as Hiroshima, which has two respectively distinct styles of making them. 4. Dorayaki
